Last week I drove to Microsoft HQ NL, which takes me about 15 to 20 minutes to attend a Solution Design Workshop specifically aimed at WVD. After a formal kickoff (and coffee, of course), the group was split into a technical and business/sales orientated track. Needles to say I joined the technical track. Here’s what I’ve learned. I’m pretty sure there’s some stuff in here you didn’t know already.
Continue ReadingThe Windows Virtual Desktop Technology Cheat Sheet v1.0
After publishing the Cloud services cheat sheet here as well as a blog post containing 83 facts on the WVD here, I thought, what if I put one and one together? So, here you go. My personal cheat sheet concept and layout combined with a ton of information on the latest developments around Microsoft’s most recent Cloud workspace initiative – the Windows Virtual Desktop. Don’t use the image, there’s a downloadable PDF available as well – just click the download button below.
Continue ReadingAvailable for download NOW! The complete book. Inside Citrix
Finally, it’s here! I decided not to publish the last 6 chapters (including 2 appendixes) separately. Instead, the book, as a whole, is now available as a PDF download. I have also included an interactive Table of Contents (ToC), making it easy to navigate from the ToC to a specific chapter and vice versa.

Average time to read: 4 minutesIf it sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Well, not in this case. The IGEL UDC3 software, which stands for Universal Desktop Converter, transforms any x86 based machine into a fully functional and managed thin client device, and does it fast.
Focus on Citrix (or VMware, or Microsoft) – not printing!
Average time to read: 6 minutesI’ve always had a big interest in printing. It’s something I have written about and presented on extensively in the past. Throughout the years I have had my fair share of failure when it comes to printing in Citrix/RDSH/VDI based environments (who hasn’t?) so I decided to dig in a bit deeper. Not too long ago I got introduced to Tricerat, a very simple, yet effective and efficient solution when it comes to taking care of all things print related within Citrix environments, or any other type of environment, for that matter. Throughout this post I’d like to share with you how they simplify print management and let you, the IT Administrator, focus on Citrix – not printing!
2015! My year in review, and what a year it has been!
Average time to read: 4 minutes2015, where do I start? It was an amazing year to say the least, personally as well as professionally. For one, it was another year full of events and get togethers, which, as always I enjoyed very much. In fact, 2015 marked the year of my first ever Citrix Synergy, and what a ride it turned out to be. I’ll definitely be back for seconds! Looking back from 2013 up till now I can only say that I am privileged to have met so many great and fun community folks over the last couple of years and hopefully it doesn’t stop here.
