During Microsoft Ignite Microsoft announced their Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) offering, available on Microsoft Azure exclusively. It provides users with a full, multi-user Windows 10 experience virtualized in the Cloud and always up to date and available on every device.
Liquidware Stratusphere UX just got a big update
Throughout my time at Liquidware Stratusphere UX was always one of the favorites, during customer visits, demo’s, tech sessions, you name it. Not really surprising, since detailed insights into what’s happening from a technical as well as user perspective is a very important part of the end user experience and ongoing (never ending, it seems) management puzzle. This applies to on-premises as much as it does to various cloud environments, never mind which one.
A new chapter! Excited to announce that I will be joining Liquidware
After three great years with Detron I acepted a new role/challenge over at Liquidware. Building on their current EMEA presence in both the UK and Switzerland, I will be joining Liquidware in the Netherlands from where we will focus on further business expansion within NL, the Benelux and other European regions – read on.
Citrix… What they’re missing or might need to work on. Just thinking out loud here.
During the last year or so I had couple of interesting discussions (trough CUGC, Twitter, real life etc.) on what Citrix might need to do from a business and application development perspective. Perhaps sell some of their products, reinvent, recode or reinvest in existing technology, innovate (which they’re doing) perhaps buy another company and so on and so forth. Of course it’s always easy to judge or come up with comments like these being a so-called sideline critic, but it’s not my intention to be the ‘wise guy’ here, I’m just thinking out loud, that is all.
Citrix Synergy 2015, here’s what to expect. Or not.
Next week I will be in Orlando attending my first ever Citrix Synergy and as you can imagine there’s a lot to be excited about and look forward to. To name a few… there will be dozens of technical deep dive and Geek Speak sessions, meeting up with community friends, getting to know new people, the Keynote, new and (hopefully) surprising product announcements, dinner parties, other parties :) the welcome reception, TechEdge, the closing appreciation party in the Universal Studio’s etc. And besides all that I also have my very own Match.Geek sessions to look forward to (exiting stuff). Yes, I think it’s safe to say that we will all have a great time in Orlando, once again. Like many others, I have my expectations and hopes on what will be announced at Synergy this year, so without further ado I’ll list them here.
Want to know what’s trending with VDI & SBC? Current and future insights!
You might have heard about something called Project VRC, or Project Virtual Reality Check, in full. The results of this independent and truly unique survey will provide us with many new insights into the usage of desktop virtualization and related technologies around the world. Last year over 1300 people participated, you can download the full 2013 / 2014 report here, and this year we (Ruben Spruijt en Jeroen van de Kamp) would like to repeat this survey to see how our industry has changed and to take a look at the future of VDI and SBC in 2015. To give you an idea on how they are doing, I’ve summarized the results up till now (also published on Twitter). Some interesting results so far, still over two weeks to go though.
