A catchy title, right? “Here’s what I’ve picked up during my last 20 years of my life” would have worked as well, if you know what I mean. But hey, we’re in IT, we are ambitious, hungry for knowledge, eager to learn, over achievers, workaholics, and what not. It’s fun, potentially stressful, hard work, but also very satisfying and rewarding at the same time. At least that’s how I would describe my career so far.
Continue ReadingThe need of doing User Environment Management on (all) your digital workspaces… and not just virtual
Average time to read: 5 minutesThroughout the years I have had the pleasure of visiting dozens of companies to talk about their ‘digital workspace’ challenges. Projects ranged from thousands of users/machines to just a few hundred. Some of these challenges were related to physical desktops, some to virtual, some were on-premises, some were cloud-based. I’ve worked for retail companies, financial, travel, in healthcare, etc. No matter their branch and/or size, they all dealt with the same types of issues.
I’m joining (the) Technical Fellows – Why join the navy if you can be a pirate?
Average time to read: 2 minutesNo, I didn’t switch companies, I’m perfectly fine where I am now. Citrix StoreFront… The tale of two Stores. Hiding, authentication and visuals!
Average time to read: 9 minutesThere are a couple of reasons why you might want, or need, to use multiple StoreFront stores. One example would be when dealing with a multi tenant environment and you want to be able to apply different configurations per store. You might have an external and an internal store, hiding certain recourses from your users. And what if you want to apply different authentication mechanisms, or you want to give certain stores and individual look and feel? As we can now easily do with StoreFront 3.0, or easier then before anyway.
How to: Upgrading and configuring StoreFront 3.0 – The Unified Experience!
Average time to read: 6 minutesDuring the last couple of weeks I have been testing several StoreFront / Receiver features. Relatively simple things like single sign-on for Receiver, working with multiple stores, hiding applications and/or desktops from StoreFront (Store) using PowerShell etc. things like that. At first I started out with the Tech Previews of the X1 Receiver and StoreFront 3.0, which worked ok, but I couldn’t do everything I wanted. When I reverted back to the (back then) latest Receiver build things were again fine and I could continue testing.
