Not necessarily a new topic, though, I might be able to provide a different angle. I won’t go into the details of what WVD is, how it works and why it is a good fit for a ton of companies world-wide. What I will do is give you an example of how to use the Azure calculator for WVD in a slightly different way.

First and foremost, we would again like to say THANK YOU! Thank you, to everyone who contributed, bought a copy, helped spread the word, or otherwise. It’s been quite a roller-coaster, and to say we enjoyed every moment of it would be an understatement.
Continue ReadingEUC-X becomes EUCdigest, a name change. About to launch!
Yes, we changed our name from EUC-X to EUCdigest. It turned out that EUC-X was already taken (an unfortunate timing issue) and we were legally forced to come up with something else. Luckily we had EUCdigest as a backup, and to be honest, we like it… A LOT! Perhaps better even.

Continue ReadingByte sized Cloud design principles and architectural recommendations
Average time to read: 9 minutesThe idea behind this project is simple, we’re looking for as many Cloud related design principles, best or common practices, (funny) quotes, tips & tricks, and architectural recommendations as possible. Almost anything goes. Forget about AWS, Azure, Google, IBM, Oracle, and all others, it’s the concept that matters, not the underlying vendor – 99 out of 100 times anyway. It can involve SaaS, IaaS, DaaS, PaaS, RaaS, or whatever aaS you can think of – private, public, or hybrid Cloud are all optional. General recommendations are more than welcome as well, it doesn’t have to involve technology per se. Please, read on.
My version of why the pen is mightier than the keyboard!
Average time to read: 7 minutesLittle over two years ago I singed up to WordPress.com, bought my own personal domain basvankaam.com and just started writing. The main thought behind all this was to create some sort of online (personal) knowledge base and to learn about new and existing technologies and products as I progressed, primarily focusing on the Citrix portfolio. Over time I’ve learned that sharing what I know, or have learned, with others is probably one of the main reasons I kept, and keep, doing what I do. It’s fun, educational (in many ways) and very rewarding at the same time. Although at first I never expected it to turn out the way it has done today, something for which I can only be thankful. But don’t worry, that’s not what I wanted to talk about throughout this article.
